Andrei Maniata
Andrei Maniata was born on May 14th, 1998, in Hunedoara, Romania. He left the rural lifestyle of Romania and joined the sophisticated lifestyle of London to build his life and develop his individuality and creativity. Through this shift, the challenges of a working-class actor surfaced, yet with resilience and a value-driven experience, nothing is impossible.
He began acting at 16 when he joined Theatre Royal Stratford East's company performing Davey Anderson's Blackout, part of National Theatre's Connections Festival and trained as an actor at London College of Music. His other theatre work includes The Grid (The Cockpit Theatre/The Proud Archivist/Candid Arts Trust), The White Devil (Tristan Bates Theatre), Children of Killers (Orange Tree Theatre/National Theatre), [BLANK] (Artsdepot/Arthur Cotterell Theatre/National Theatre), Cyrano de Bergerac (3rd Space). Dance includes Identity under East London Dance's youth company (MOVEIT! Dance Festival/UDANCE London Platform). Film includes ONE SHOT, Stay Behind, Charades, Dani(el).
Andrei aims to create work that acts as a catalyst for change in society. He believes that as an artist, he has a responsibility to give underrepresented minority groups such as BAME and LQBTQIA+ a voice and raise awareness of societal topics. Therefore, he approaches his work with respect and care, seeking to represent each role he plays with truth.
