Navjot Randhawa
Navjot Randhawa started her film career as the lead actress of Kabir Chowdhry's "Mehsampur" that won the Grand Jury Prize at MAMI 2018 (Mumbai International Film Festival). Her second film in leading role « The Shepherdess & the Seven Songs (Laila Aur Satt Geet) » had its world premiere at Berlinale (Berlin International Film Festival) 2020 in competition in "Encounters". Her third feature film KRIYA premiered at Fantasia International Film Festival, 2020. Before embarking on her film career,Navjot was active in the Mumbai Theatre scene (She made her debut with Alyque Padamsee's "Death of a Salesman") and also wrote 3 plays, 2 in Punjabi and 1 in English & French. The latter ("Everything She Wants : Amrita & Boris") that she co-wrote with Jim Sarbh) was given shape in residency at Footsbarn Theatre in France and also premiered there. Subsequently it traveled across Hungary as part of the PEN Festival 2017. She was a guest of the Ministry of Culture, Hungary. Navjot is the director of the Andretta Arts Company and lives between London and Andretta in the Northern Himalayas of India.
