Darrel Cherney
Darrel Cherney is an actor, known for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2014), Matador (2014), The Advocate (2015) and DisOrientation (2012).
Darrel was born in Milladore, Wisconsin, to Bonnie (Muzik), a homemaker and David Cherney, a dairy farmer. He is of Czech Bohemian and German descent. Darrel spent his early years working on his father's farm and busing into city schools many miles outside of his rural home.
While in high school, Darrel tended to focus more on being the frontman of a rock 'n roll band than his studies. It wasn't until years later, when offered a role by the artistic director of an avant-garde theater company, that he began his foray into acting.
Having later taken up with a sketch-comedy group, Darrel got to explore his comedic side and develop a connection to the stage. It was members of this group that convinced Darrel to pursue an acting degree.
Darrel received a BFA from the conservatory program at The University Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His large frame, large voice and large personality helped him secure leading roles before graduating with a Special Recognition Award. After touring Montana with a production of "Much Ado About Nothing", Darrel set his sights on Los Angeles and the film and television industry.
