Tod Williams
Tod Culpan Williams, also known as Kip, is the writer and director of The Door in the Floor (2004) (This is that, Revere and Focus Features), starring Kim Basinger and Jeff Bridges, and based the novel "A Widow For One Year" by John Irving.
Kip grew up in New York City, with his mother, a dancer, and his father, an architect. He studied painting and literature at Bard College and Columbia University. Later, he worked as a stringer for The New York Times - Los Angeles bureau before attending the American Film Institute. In 1997, he wrote and directed The Adventures of Sebastian Cole (1998) (Paramount Classics), which premiered internationally at the Toronto Film Festival, was selected for main competition at the Sundance Film Festival and earned nominations for two IFP Independent Spirit Awards (Best Supporting Actor and Best Screenplay). Kip lives in New York City and Alden, Michigan.
