Pragya Nagra is an Indian actress who has appeared in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam language films. She made her debut in the Tamil film Varalaru Mukkiyam in 2022 and in the Malayalam film Nadikalil Sundari Yamuna. Born into a Kashmiri family in Ambala, Haryana, Nagra completed her schooling and college studies in Delhi before starting her career in modeling. Her father served in the armed forces and was posted in Chennai for a period, which led to her frequent visits to the city. During her engineering studies in Delhi, Nagra developed an interest in modeling and featured in over 100 ad commercials. She was also a member of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and had aspirations of joining the armed forces. However, she eventually decided to pursue a career in the film industry and moved to Chennai. Nagra began her career in the Tamil feature films. In the Tamil film Varalaru Mukkiyam, she played the role of a Malayali girl opposite Jiiva, which was released in 2022. Despite receiving negative reviews, Nagra's performance was appreciated. She also appeared in the Malayalam film Nadikalil Sundari Yamuna, playing the role of a Kannada girl. Nagra gained significant experience in modeling prior to her acting career and eventually decided to pursue her passion for acting by making the move to the film industry.
