Nithyashri
Nithyashri Nithyashri is an Actor, Writer, and a performance artist from Bangalore. Born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on December 16, 1993, She completed her education from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore.
A professional dancer and theatre artist, Nithya trained extensively in traditional art forms such as Bharatanatyam, and Kathak from an early age. She forayed further into adapting the style of Indian classical contemporary, performing over 250 shows across many countries. She was also the part of the performance crew of the magnificent Broadway-style musical (Mughal-e-Azam) directed by the acclaimed director Mr.Feroze Abbas Khan.
Having her roots from the conventional form of theatre, Nithya steered into acting quite naturally. After her stint at various short films, ad films, runways, and fashion weeks, she hit the limelight with her short but endearing role as Sitara in ace director Manirathnam'sKaatru Veliyidai (2017). Post this, She acted and assisted in (Solo) an anthology directed by the prolific director Bejoy Nambiar.
Nithya started her journey as a lead actor, closer to home, with her Kannada film (Vritra). Directed by debutante Gautham Iyer, the movie sees her in the role of a police officer. She garnered appreciations, and accolades across industries for her debut performance in this 2019 crime drama.
Her film (Distant Teardrop) a multilingual indie art film directed by Padma Kumar Narasimha Murthy is set to release in 2020.
