Ben Van Kleek
Ben Van Kleek is a writer/director from Vancouver, BC who produces TV commercials, films, and branded content. Ben has produced hundreds of engaging videos for clients across Canada and USA for digital distribution and TV broadcast. He recently made his directorial debut feature film 'Jonah', he co-wrote the script with WGA screenwriter Trevor Vandelac (Power Book IV: Force). The film stars Osric Chau (Supernatural), Alaina Huffman (Riverdale, Stargate Universe), Ken Kirby (Good Trouble), Tahmoh Penikett (Battlestar Galactica) and Lincoln Huffman.
It was recently announced that 'Jonah' was sold and slated for distribution domestically and internationally for release in March 2024. 'Jonah' premiered at AFF30 and was the second film screened at the festival behind Saltburn. 'Jonah' was nominated for a jury award in the Dark Matters category. His latest press included coverage from IGN, IMDB, Screen Daily, IndieWire, Yahoo, Collider, Dailymotion, and ONE Media Coverage.
Ben also produced the short film 'Good News', directed by Osric Chau, starring Ken Kirby and Jacky Lai. The film was an official selection at the Austin Film Festival. 'Good News' would go on to win best short film at the Golden Gate International Film Festival. The film also played at the Asian American International Film Festival, the Portland Film Festival, the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, the Soo Film Festival, the Viet Film Fest, Vancouver Asian Film Festival, and the Seattle Asian American Film Festival.
Ben's latest TV commercial for FirstMate Pet Food was seen by 7 million people on Animal Planet, DIY Network, CNN, E!, Fox Business Network, Oprah Winfrey Network, Discovery Channel, and CNBC. His branded content work has also been distributed online to millions of users through Facebook and YouTube.
